Palin Gets T.O. Treatment from Philly Fans

The Philadelphia fan is notoriously extroverted when it comes to voicing displeasure. The city's brand of sportsmanship was on full display on Saturday night, when Sarah Palin was invited to drop the puck at the Flyers-Rangers game. Despite being America's favorite hockey mom, the VP nominee was greeted with cheers similar to those when Dallas Cowboy Terrell Owens takes the field in the City of Brotherly Love.

I am personally very proud to be a Philly fan, and for the record, she would have been booed just as much at any other sporting event!!!

Okay, let me try to state my point. It has become clear to me that most,if not all, people operate on a largely emotional level as relates to politics and their candidate of choice. First they form an ideology at some point in their life and then largely only believe or buy into what feeds into that core of beliefs. This may not pertain to Independents, if their is such a thing. Now say I'm a Republican (not!) I will see my candidates in a favorable light and defend them and their views almost to the point of idiocy. This has really been brought to my attention observing this political campaign. As I watch the debates and come away with a very clear perception of who "won" my siser feels completely opposite. I can argue with her until I'm "blue in the face," but she won't see it my way. I guess that's why they say never argue politics or religion. That said, I have never been so excited about an election in my life. I am firmly in the Obama/Biden camp. I can't understand how anyone would choose McCain/Palin over them except for ideology. I don't want to denigrate the Republican ticket but it is so clear to me why Obama is the better choice. First of all he is brilliant (call me stupid, but I like a smart President), he has a firm grasp of the issues, he has run an even-handed campaign, unwilling to stoop to the other parties' level, he handles himself with dignity and decorum and, pardon me if I like a President to act Presidential, and of course I support his policies and I think he is going to make one remarkable President. He does care about the people of this country and I believe he can help to turn America around. By the way, all that other "stuff" (Ayers, ACORN, terrorist, radical, Muslim) is all an attempt to discredit him. Thank goodness there are still people who use their "intellect," the thinking part of the brain. Go Obama/Biden!

Did anyone else pick up on McCain saying in the last debate that returning veterans should be given jobs teaching in public schools? He then stated that anyone who could fight for their country was certainly qualified to teach school. What country is he talking about? Iraq, Afghanistan?
