There is new evidence suggesting stone-age humans took drugs to get high.Archaeologists conducting research on the Caribbean Island of Carriacou have unearthed ceramic bowls and tubes which ancient man used for inhaling fumes or powders. Testing of the paraphernalia revealed it to be from between 100 and 400 B.C., in the time period that should perhaps now be called "The Stoned Age."
The researchers believe the drug involved was cohaba, the psychedelic ground seed of the cojobana tree. Many scientists and historians suspect humans have been using hallucinogens as far back as 5,000 years ago, but the Carriacou find is the most direct evidence that our ancestors partied.
Of course, cavemen getting high was never directly addressed on "The Flintstones," but we've always suspected Barney's drug use was linked to Bam Bam's behavioral issues.
