If you haven't heard, there's a new method of musical instruction out there -- iVideosongs. The site has both free tutorials and vids for sale (John Hall of Hall and Oates is $10 and well worth it, even without the 'stache) that will show you how to play a variety of styles, from Bluegrass to Soundgarden, on guitar, drums and piano. There are over 200 songs in their catalog, and videos are in the MOV format, so they can be viewed on your mobile.
We downloaded a free tutorial covering the major scale, and busted out that cheap guitar we bought in college but haven't used since. It's a cool idea because you can go back and watch certain segments over and over. Even better, you don't feel rushed by your burnout instructor who wants the lesson to end as quickly as possible, leaving you with only the ability to play "Smoke on the Water."
