"Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero" have spawned dozens of controllers, and the latest is based on Kiss member and reality-show dad Gene Simmons' axe bass. The controller is a three-quarter replica of the famous bass guitar with wireless up to 30 feet. It connects via USB and even has a whammy bar, which is absurd since Simmons is a bass player. Hopefully, they'll bundle the guitar controller with a giant Gene Simmons official prosthetic tongue.
It's available for the Playstation 2 and 3 at $80, and is compatible with both "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero." If you need to add a light show to your performance, pick up the Rock Band Home Stage Kit ($100, groupies and dry ice not included). Buy that and the ax, and you'll probably feel a deep sense of self-satisfaction, much like Gene.

This guitar is great - some googling revealed an interesting behind the scenes story:

Looks like this company is the one who actually designed it for Gene Simmons - but the thing is - I2G/Gene stiffed them and never paid for the building of it. These people are the ones behind the Flashback 2 and other cool looking products as well - they build electronic works of art. If Gene played a concert - he'd expect to get paid, well these people built what looks like a great product, real shame that didn't get paid.
