Last week, we saw the release of "Zack and Miri Make a Porno," a feel-good flick in which the titular characters, um, make a porno. But just how realistic is Hollywood's porn fantasy? We turned to Belladonna, adult star, director, producer and host of this year's AVN awards, to find out what a couple of amateurs would really need to know to be successful in the flesh trade.

Work with what you've got.
Belladonna recommends keeping it simple with a hand-held camera and free locations. "We've shot in every room of our house including the garage," she says. "We shoot during the day always because we really like natural lighting. Our house has a lot of windows, which makes the product look good." Got that? Natural light.

Be creative!
Apparently, Zack and Miri's idea to create a "Star Wars" spoof entitled "Star Whores" isn't all that far-fetched. Belladonna says, "Usually what I do for each movie is have a theme. The last movie I did was all secretary. " Check out these classic porn movie spoofs if you need inspiration.

Cast for personality (but get a look at the goods).
Belladonna likes to sit down with a potential performer for 10 or 15 minutes to find out basic info like where she's from, how long she's been in the business and her sexual preferences. "Then I have them take their clothes off to make sure there's nothing bad like rashes or infections. I've had girls show up with staph infections and it's not good," she says. Once hired, you're going to want to pay your performers around $1,000 for each boy-girl scene ($1,200 with anal).

Get the right angles.
Belladonna recommends doggy style, full nelson, and spoon positions for better-looking sex on camera. "You have to think about the way your body is angled so the camera can see what you're doing. If you're giving oral sex, you have to learn to cheat to the camera. You also want to make sure the person you are having sex with is always in the light," she says.

Be realistic.
If you're planning to star in your magnum opus, you might need a reality check. "There's a lot of pressure for a guy," says Belladonna. "They have to face a lot of girls not really being into them and vocalizing it. They have a lot of pressure with the camera being there and everybody counting on them and waiting on them to get hard, control the scene and pop at the end. And they're going to have to have sex with people they don't really want to have sex with in the beginning."
