Those who've tended bar know how pesky stouts can be if you're trying to dole out pints in a timely manner. The Trufill from Scotsman is rumored to be able to pour beer from the bottom up at lightning speed -- 10 pints in 10 seconds -- without producing too much foam. This one has been floating around the beer/gear blogosphere for the last few days, but we can't find anywhere official to purchase the device in order to run our own tests to confirm its claims. All the blogs say it's a concept, and there are some cool photos and videos of it in action, but we're anxiously awaiting a little bit of info about the science behind it.
Obviously, the Trufill would be great for large sports venues, where the speed at which the beer arrives is more important than the quality of the pour. But still, unless there's some sort of suspended gravity going on, how do you pour beer from the bottom up? Could this possibly be the breakthrough we've all dreamed of, or is this story just foamy head?
