The British are considering a proposal to ban happy hour in bars and restaurants.After reviewing the findings of an independent policy paper on the effects of happy hour, UK health officials will deliver a final verdict on time-designated drink discounts.
Eliminating happy hour was one in a series of proposals aimed at cutting the rate of alcohol consumption among teenagers and young adults. Health advocacy groups arguing for the ban point to increased alcohol deaths and liver disease among Britons in their 20s and 30s. They also link binge drinking to cheap booze.
