If you're like us and spend half your time at work surfing the net for distractions, you've probably been distracted a lot by Felicia Day. Day writes and stars in the hit web sitcom "The Guild" and acted in both "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" and "Legend of Neil." "The Guild," which is about to launch its second season, centers on a group of "World of Warcraft" players meeting in the real world for the first time. So she's got a pretty good idea how a guy like you can meet a girl without giving up your crippling addiction to WOW. In other words, she reveals how to woo on WOW.
So what advice would you give to guy trying to meet a girl in World Of Warcraft? Well, most of the female avatars in World of Warcraft are actually guys. So if you're a guy looking to meet girls, you need to make sure to put the person you're interested in through that vetting process. And if you're a girl, be prepared to fight guys off with a stick because there's a lot more of them than there are female gamers. You should join a large guild and pair with other people to go on missions. Try and meet people who are on your same level.
Would it matter to you if the guy's a noob? Yeah, I hate to say that, but if you're a noob you probably won't get a second glance. Just like in real life when a guy drives a Ferrari, it might not be an automatic thumbs up, but it does catch the eye. So if you have the Ferrari of broadswords, yeah.
That's a big plus. I mean, it's not necessarily a big plus, but it definitely gets you a second look. Whereas if you're in some torn cross-stitch pants, you're probably not even going to be a blip on the radar.
Sure, you wouldn't want to be seen with a guy like that. Probably not.
Felicia Day explains what she looks for in a guy's avatar after the jump.

Hi- I just wanted to add that I'm one of those rare female gamers. I've always been into gaming: DnD, White Wolf, Diablo II, etc. My husband and I have 2 computers and 2 WoW accounts so we can play side by side. For all of you looking for a woman to game with- they are out there, but somewhat hard to find. Oh, and I almost forgot- I'm hot too.

"awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, did someone get pwned in Westfall as a child?"
LMFAO! Yeah, totally! Nice one, Kadlekins!
Anyone know what realm she plays on? I know that she will probably never have time for one-on-one, not that I want to be her bf, I'm only 15. But I am an extremely amazing story writer, given the proper inspiration. And inspiration affects everyone differently, some are not fazed by inspiration, like undead aren't fazed by fear, charm or w/e the last one is. I don't main undead, so I don't know. Anyways, I got a few suggestions, not that the show is getting worse, just that I want to help her, cuz she deserves it. :) Sorry for the super long comment. D:

1. Nobody who plays wow refers to quests as "missions"
2. the advice is retarded and a shame to all real girl gamers everywhere
3. If you do play WoW you'd know that the best gear is BOP so it can't actually be bought. Just FYI
4. "Torn cross-stitch pants" "Broadswords"? has this creature gone past level 10 or what?
5. This is just moronic "dating advice" who purports to be aimed at gamers by someone who obviously knows fuck all about gaming culture. Show me your full Valorous geared 80 and then you get to talk about gaming culture, and not a second before that ( and that's just talking about WoW)
This is pure and unadulterated bullshit and nothing more. Keep your mainstream crap out of my game.

lol... I'm a chic and I play WoW.. I got lucky enough to meet a fantastic guy who is smart, funny, sweet and the best gaming partner I've ever had. We've had a steady and strong relationship for several months now and have plans to meet soon. He is the most amazing man I've ever known.
So it can easily happen.....

Stoopidest advises ever... first off we dont play to date people, im a girl player and i dont care other players are males or females, and i never ever pay attention to how a player is looking, since there is so so many alts, rerolls, account buyers, gold buyers etc... Best you can do is just not play like a tard, cause ya many girl players are BAAAADD and many of them are dating poor guys to rip them off, i seen that and most girl players are not even worth a look and most are real bitches trying to get everything they need just seducing a band of horny guys.. so ya your advises are retarded and out of context, cause first of wow is a game, not a lupanar for stoopid dating.
Also err i met my housband in a game 6 years ago, and he was a bad looking noob, so ya put your advises wherever the sun never reach plox, and dont call yourself a player.

I've never played WoW in my life because I'm a console gamer, but I don't really see how having a impressive avatar can mean anything other than unemployment.

I actually think it's really hard to meet people on WOW without sounding like a kid or an idiot.
I'm not just going to jump into a crowd and say "I'm a chick, wanna run around with me?" That sounds dumb. I have my own guild that I've been working on for a long time, so I'm not just going to ditch it for a guild just to meet guys. I agree with someone else who said it sounds like she doesn't actually play the game. The just got an ok looking girl to talk about it to drag more people into the game :) It's already addicting by itself!
Aside from just shouting out that your a chick in the middle of a crowd I don't see how you get people to pay attention to you.
