In the '80s flick Johnny Dangerously, a carefully placed silver cigarette case in Michael Keaton's breast pocket keeps a bullet from cutting through his chest. Besides the fact that Joe Piscopo plays a comic lead, it's the most ridiculous part of the movie.

Yet a Louisiana man had a similar thing happen to him last week. Instead of a cigarette case, the savior was a cell phone in his breast pocket that deflected a stray bullet.

R.J. Richard was mowing the lawn outside of his home when the bullet came at him from the nearby forest. At the time, he thought his tractor had kicked up a rock, but when he took the phone out of his pocket, he found a .45 caliber bullet lodged in it.

"I look at this as God telling me to put my cell phone in that pocket," said Richard. "I'm grateful and humbled." Though an investigation is still pending, police don't think the shooting was intentional.

If it was, we suspect an accomplished sniper who has beef with Sprint.
