Bill O'Reilly's Jesus Quote -- Controversy or Consistency?

Rapper Chuck D once claimed "They got me like Jesus." And John Lennon infamously compared the Beatles to the holy man from Nazareth. Now the pundit America loves to hate is getting in on the Jesus sound bites.

In an interview with NPR this week, O'Reilly discussed how his detractors consider him "evil." To which he retorts, "Some people thought Jesus was evil; they nailed him to a cross."

After O'Reilly threw out the J-word, NPR's Renee Montagne got to wondering if Fox's favorite talking head really thinks he's on the same level as a figure worshipped by over 2 billion people on the planet. "No, but I'm giving you an analogy that's vivid," he finished.

Maybe. Or is this just yet another example of Mr. O'Reilly's up-to-now perfectly successful strategy for gaining attention, drawing high ratings and clocking mad dollars? The interview, after all, was a vehicle to promote his new memoir, "A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity."

First you complain about the last 8 years. Then you say "Christians coddle everyone and only believe in hand outs. Nobody wants to earn anything they just think they're entitled to be lazy and have someone else do what they want for them." Obama has the "Spread The Wealth" attitude. Christians DO NOT believe in being lazy. Proverbs 10:4 says "Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth." If more people had strong Christian values, this country would ABSOLUTELY be in better shape. Greed and a quest for power would not be crippling our leaders. We would not have people who are only looking out for themselves.

Okay, if I have to listen to four years of people being called racist just because they have issues with the President, I might go certifiably insane! Have African Americans or Mexicans or ANYONE else been called racist because they didn't like Hillary Clinton, or Bill Clinton (both from the SAME PARTY as your beloved Obama, by the way). Everyone knows that O-Reilly is just a bold fresh piece of _ _ _ P, and it's not humanity. He is no more worthy of serious consideration than Rosie or Giraldo or Donald Trump - he's a joke. But this Jesus accusation misses the mark - He didn't say he was Jesus - and the Beatles (John Lennon) didn't say he (they) were God - that's a stretch in either instance. (but who knows what that rapper did - but who cares about him either - just another pig (this time WITHOUT lipstick as compared to our new most gracious first lady). This article is poorly written and inaccurate. Plenty of ammo to criticize O'Reilly on, but this ain't it.
