The 100 Weirdest News Stories we Dugg in 2008: 1

1. Gmail Goggles Prevents Drunk Emails (6184 Diggs)
After what we assume must have been one too many unintelligible missives from Larry Page's high-school girlfriend, Google introduced a rudimentary anti-drunken email program. "Mail Goggles" verifies your sobriety by asking you to solve a few incredibly simple math problems, so it also works for people who are too stupid to be allowed within a power strip cord's length of an electrical outlet. Now if the iPhone could only come up with an anti-drunk dial app, we'd be much less likely to perform our weekly Saturday-morning-involuntary-forehead-slap ritual.

Also many Digg users seemed to think their math skills would actually improve after drinking. This assertion was heavily supported by the Digg community.

ThrillerJesus wrote, "If you're like me, this won't work because you're actually better at math the more you drink." This comment received +190 votes.

Celebrate the year with a drink friends, just make sure you have Goggles on your computer if you're planning on emailing afterwards.
