Employees who exercise on work days are happier, more productive and suffer less stress.Researchers at the University of Bristol gave a questionnaire concerning work performance to a group of university staff on days they did and didn't exercise. By comparing the results, they determined that on exercise days 72 percent of staffers reported an improvement in time management, 79 percent felt enhanced mental and interpersonal performance and 27 percent were better able to deal calmly with stress.
Exercise and health science expert Jo Coulson, who worked on the study, believes employers should keep workers productive by having on-site workout facilities for employees to take active midday breaks.
