Pinhole cameras are generally unglamorous, since you can make them out of a sheet of cardboard. That's why Yama sticks out. It's fashioned out of jewels, brass apertures and, oh yeah, the skull of a Tibetan monk that's been blessed by a Lama. Designed by Wayne Martin Belger, the camera cost over $5,000 to make, and is fittingly named for the Tibetan god of death. It was designed for a photo series to capture images of Southeast Asian gods, and contains the following: titanium, copper, brass, bronze steel, silver, gold, mercury, four sapphires, three rubies, Asian and American turquoise, blood, and nine opals.
We're thinking that if the paparazzi starts using these, "Access Hollywood" could be worth watching.
