We've never understood the appeal of virtual world roleplaying game "Second Life" -- maybe because we kind of have our hands full with our first, actual life. It seems for some people, the draw lies in being able to do things they are unable to do in real life, whether that's cheating on a spouse or having sex for money.

A recent Greenpixels interview with one of the many avatars hanging around Second Life's nightclubs and brothels explores the alleged female's reasons for spending her evenings selling pixelated ass online.

"In the summer of 2007 I heard that there were sexual aspects to Second Life, and I had the idea that this could be a way to live out my dark fantasy life without my family finding out. I set myself up immediately as an online escort. It took a little while to learn how to do things, but within a few days I had my first client," she says.

The going rate for cyber hookers in Second Life is between 2,000 and 3,000 Linden Dollars, although the interview subject was quick to point out that sexual fantasy and not (fake) money is her primary reason for participating in the SL flesh trade. She also spends two to three hours several nights a week dancing in virtual escort clubs and "working" as a prostitute in Second Life.

It sounds like a pretty harmless way to fulfill a fantasy to us, but we refuse to indulge until it can be proven that our cyber hooker actually looks like the avatar above, and not like a sweaty, Dorito-breathed basement dweller.
