Think flying is a hassle? Try doing it with baby pigeons down your pants.

A 23-year old Australian man recently attempted this feat when returning to Melbourne from Dubai. The birds were nestled in padded envelopes under a set of tights (pictured here), and his bag also contained two additional pigeon eggs.

This doesn't appear to be part of a nefarious terrorist bird flu plot, but it is illegal to smuggle animals into Australia. Because of this, the man could be sent to prison for as long as 10 years.

"Wildlife smuggling is not only cruel to the animals involved, it poses a severe risk to the Australian environment and the health of the Australian community," a customs spokesman said.

We know you've heard this before, but we've decided to reiterate that most important rule of air travel: If you hear cooing coming from the pants of the man sitting next to you, tell someone. Stopping baby pigeon smuggling starts with you.
