Domingo Santoyo was born without arms. Despite this, the 16-year-old decided to learn to swim last summer, and is already a competitor on the Rivera High School swim team in Brownsville, Texas. Santoyo, who competes in the 50-meter freestyle, has been impressing coaches and others, receiving standing ovations at both of the meets he's participated in."He tried swimming and found out that he really liked it," his mother said. "Since the first day, he's been all excited about being in the pool. I'm happy because he doesn't give up. He doesn't mind if he's the last one, although he's very competitive."
Sponsors are sticking by the smoke-tainted Michael Phelps this week -- if they do decide to drop the Olympic swimmer, Santoyo could provide an inspiring replacement on that Wheaties box.
