This just so stupid. Phelps is a "kid" and as such, has a right to make stupid mistakes without having all this negative response to it.

Don't forget to boycott KASHI, who was UNFORTUNATELY bought by Kelloggs in 2000. BARENAKED Granola, Morningstar Farms and Gardenberger have been purchased by Kashi.
You will NOT see Kelloggs name on any of these Kellogg owned products.
Be sure and Goggle Kellogg founder John Harvey Kelloggs wiki. In his time he treated deadly masturbation with a little surgery for the boyz and carbolic acid for the girls. Now HE'S a model!

I have no judgement about Mr. Phelps. His 8 gold medals speak for his skill. But just like Pete Rose of baseball, society judges those in the public 'eye' ~ except those in the financial or political or corporate eye. The consequences have not kept up with the outrageous suffering going on with American society in general. Mr. Phelps fell off the sports pedestal, he is remorseful, this is a personal issue. The others affected billions of people throughout the world and we Americans sit here like zombies no demanding retribution. So Phelps fell off the pedestal, he has not interfered with the living of others, except he tarnished his halo as an 'idol.' So what? He proved to be human.

I'm a 56 year old grandmother and even I can see how ridiculous this is. He admitted that he did it. He's been suspended from his sport. I actually think it's a great lesson for kids to see, but since Kellogg's is going to such an extreme I guess I'll have to also. I will boycott all their foods and I hope others do the same.
It's not for people or Kellogg's to judge him. Only God can do that and as soon as he asked for God's forgiveness, God threw it in the sea of forgetfulness. He made a huge mistake and he admitted it. I wonder how many others that Kellogg's has had on the boxes that just didn't get caught.

If Michael Phelps plan was to win at the Olympics so he could earn serious bucks in endorsement monies, did he really think he could do something unlawful in a very public setting and not pay a price for it? He forgot the reason for his newfound millions and thumbed his nose at his endorser. Kelloggs sent the right message to him and all up and coming Olympians that more is expected of them. Yes, he's young ...the best time to learn a very valuable lesson, one which will serve him well in life's journey. And for you folks who think this is "judgemental" ...please stop making excuses for Michael Phelps because of his age or whatever, he now has an opportunity to see what happens in the real world when one bites the hand that feeds one. P.S. I loved watching him win ...he should keep going.

Kellogs sells products that wind up in homes with children. If they don't feel that they want to have a KNOWN pothead fronting for them, that's their prerogative. If the public isn't aware of the habits of some of the reps for different companies, than the companies need not take action, but when it's made public because some retarded stoner thinks it's a good idea to post pictures of himself doing the drug, then he gets the boot from sponsers. Guess it just sucks to be him! Oh well! If he wasn't a retarded stoner, maybe he wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. This is just further proof that drugs make you unable to think straight. My kids see that some idiot thought that he was above the law and could do what he wanted without consequences, just like a lot of idiots out there. He found out he wasn't above consequences, and my children have learned that even heroes can fall from drugs. That's what they've taken from this. Kellog forgiving him would make what my children and others got from this irrellivent. We all make mistakes, but hopefully, we don't all BREAK THE LAW. Let's not forget that this is a criminal act. GO KELLOG!!! For every one of you morons out there who are boycotting them in support of criminals, losers, potheads, druggies, or other parasites of society, I will start my own campaign to support Kellog in doing the right thing! I will buy nothing but Kellog and encourage others to do the same. Maybe this could be the best decision Kellog has made, and for once, the dregs of society will lose!!!

I believe his position in the public sector does not absolve him from this stunt. We do not know that this was his first time, yes he is a public sports person, supposedly setting an example for other young people. I believe we, as a nation, need to begin to set better standards and priorities for our youth. Kellogs did the right thing.

because when i think of michael phelps, i think of "criminals, losers, potheads, druggies, or other parasites of society". your argument fails, sir, unless you've managed to get nine golds yourself.

You think as well as you spell! Marijuana is SO bad that it makes you win lots of gold medals at the Olympics! C'mon you christian idiot, pot is WAY less harmful than the legal drugs: ALCOHOL, nicotine, otc drugs, prescription drugs, RELIGION, etc.
BOYCOTT KELLOGG!!!!! (All their products are unhealthy crap, anyway.)

I'm sorry what did any of you people who are so angry manage to accomplish at 22? How many gold medals and what not do you have? That's what I thought. Give the guy a break. Stop being so damn righteous.

Who does Kellogg think sits around eating Cocoa Krispies and Cheez-Its? Sign me up for the boycott, I can do without Kellogg's, can they do without customers?
So someone is in the "dregs of society " if they smoke a little pot, give me a break. So how about our last three Presidents? Are they "parasites of society" too?
