Motocross racer Jeremy Lusk died yesterday after failing to complete a full rotation while attempting a backflip in a competition in Costa Rica. The 24-year-old slammed headfirst into the ground, suffering head and spinal cord injuries. Click here to see a video of Lusk crashing in an almost identical fashion (but walking away unhurt) while performing the same trick at the 2007 X Games, which caused some commenters to call for an end to a "blood sport" that makes injury almost inevitable. Others agree with YouTube commenter "723racing" who said, "Jeremy knew the risks involved, and he died doing what he loved."'

Free style Motorcross is not a sport....It's a sideshow. It ranks up there with sword swallowers, flame eaters and alligator wrestling. 700 pound cycles were made to ride, not manipulate in mid-air. There have always been those who cheat death as a means of making a living, and those who like to watch. We are a pagan society.
