"Ah, yes, 'divorce' ... from the Latin word meaning to rip out a man's genitals through his wallet." -- Robin WilliamsImagine a world where you have a wife and kids and a house. Then you come home one day and find out that you will no longer be married, you will no longer be a full-time father, you have to move from your home, and you have to hire a lawyer for you and the person who wants to leave the partnership.
But hold on, this isn't some futuristic Mad Max dream world we're talking about here. The horror story about divorce is complete loss of control over what matters in your life. Right now, in fact, it is happening all around us. How's that for a nightmare?
The gallows humor that surrounds divorce is likely to have a little more resonance to those who've been through it, but it can ring true even for the inexperienced. Following are a few divorce jokes and a few true tales of divorce horror.

Divorce laws need to change. Child support for the kids yes. For the ex-wife, No! No children involved. Natha for either spouse. You get what you brought into the relationship. That legless bitch did not deserve a dime. Child support yes. A home for the kid yes. Thats it.

When my ex left me, it was in the morning and she was packing her bag.
I asked "Hey - where are you going"
"I'm leaving"
"I understand that part, where are you going"
"I'm leaving you"
Turns out she was leaving me for one of our groomsmen from our wedding. Now I should have seen that one coming since she had left her ex (who was a very good friend of mine) for me (tho I assumed that it was because he'd left state for months without saying anything)
Lesson learned - once a cheater, always a cheater

I separated from my ex about two years ago. She never worked and refused to get a job. The judge awarded her 40% of my salary in child support (for 1 child) and maintenance and forced me to pay the mortgage on the marital home for about 3 years, which was another 25% of my salary. I got stuck with all of her credit card debt and her $12,000 attorney bill. When I tried to get the judge to let me put the house on the market, she burned it down. Now she lives rent free in a house being paid for by the insurance company. When they rebuild the house, she gets to move back in for at least another year until I can put it on the market. The ironic part is we live in a 50/50 state - She gets most of my salary and I get all of the debt. I guess that is what they meant by 50/50.

Hears one for you. I am 52 Yrs. old. When I was 18 in 1977 my High School "sweetheart" and I got pregnant. Well seeing as how I LOVED her dearly I married her. Well we graduated and I went into the U.S. Navy, (which is what I had wanted to do since I was 16). Well my first deployment overseas on an Aircraft Carrier I was gone 8 months. In that time letters from were getting further apart and eventually they stopped all together. When I finally got back to the states I went home and found my true love. She was pregnant again and she wanted a divorce. Well I was hurt to say the least but gave her what she wanted. When it came time to work out an arrangement for Child Support her attorney (does not deserve a capital letter) and her and her new future husband decided she did not want any from me so that I would not have any contact with her or my Daughter. Well, I should have gotten that in writing, but what did I know at 19 yrs old. Fast forward to 2 yrs ago. I get a letter from the Attorney General stateing I owe over $23,000. 30 something yrs. later they hit me up for Child Support. I have gotten the amount down to $18,000 but now I got layed off from work in Dec. of last yr. right before Christmas, I haven't been able to find work yet, the AG depleted my savings and checking accts. Now they are going to take what little I had in an IRA I had converted from my 401k. We are living off my wifes SS money which they tried to take that as well but found out they couldn't touch that but not after they froze her acct. and incurred late charges which amounted to $300.00 and food stamps.
I never dreamed I would be living like this. So 30 something yrs. later after the time went by when I could have had a relationship with my Daughter which I can never have now. I would have been more than happy to keep my obligation to my Daughter, but I honored the BITCHE$ REQUEST. There ought to be a Statue of Limitations, but the stupid AG does not give a $hit or give a RAT'$ A$$ about circumstances. I mean come on after 30 yrs. go after Child Support. Give me a break!!!!
