It looks like the lovechild of KITT and Herbie, but EDAG's "open source" electric car might turn out to be the next big thing in driving. The vehicle, which debuted at the Geneva Auto Show, uses LED technology both for exterior lighting and as a potential safety-news crawl visible to drivers following behind. ("Hey pickup -- Stop tailgating me.") Of course, that could lead to pandemonium as somebody will inevitably program their LED screen to warn of impending zombie attacks. The battery is a standard lithium ion, and plans for the vehicle will be made completely open source, so that car enthusiasts will be able to easily make modifications. No price has been set as this future ride is not yet ready for prime time.
