As popular as it was, the drama "Six Feet Under" never got the young people flocking to real-life careers as undertakers. It looks like the bad economy has, however, as more and more college students are opting to study the mortuary sciences, with some programs reporting a doubling of their enrollment over the past year.

Death never goes out of business, so about 80 percent of graduates with mortuary degrees get jobs in the field, with an average $50,000 starting salary after they complete a year-long residency.

Could you be enticed to spend your days with the dead for that kind of dough and job security? It sort of creeps us out, but so does having to eat boiled squirrel.
