While not a (corporate) word, ABSOLUTELY has to be the most overused worn out word in the English languge today! Ever since Greta did the 10 year talk show with the missing Holloway girl's mother, (no disrespect intended) the word has been used about a gazillion times by any and everyone who is asked a simple yes or no question. Enough of ABSOLUTELY already!!!

I ABSOLUTELY agree! I was just about to add the word ABSOLUTELY the list and was happy (and surprised) to see that someone besides myself noticed the recent overuse of this word. I'm annoyed every time I hear it!

--Partnering (gay marriage?)
--Deliverables (flowers on Mother's Day?)
--Take away point? (Like a lovely parting gift?)

These are annoying. But no where near as bad as "Ebonics." I can't stand "bling-bling," "my bad," or "that's so ghetto," and the absolute worst, "she 'dissed" me."

Okay, fine, you're white, you only hang out with white people and you don't like the stereotypical urban black person. I get it, you're like a racist lite. But 'that's so ghetto?' 'My bad?' In what world are either of those things 'ebonics?' I mean maybe you inhabit your own private reality. I could buy that. My bad is a common expression that isn't somehow just 'something those negroes say.' And that's so ghetto...I've personally never heard anyone say that. I could see white people saying that. But, yeah that's not somehow a hood expression, an urban expression or, in your language, something the darkies say. By the way Ebonics as an idiotic term ended over a decade ago, so maybe you could update your racism a bit? Also, it's just an urban dialect not any more annoying than white people from the south with their terrible god awful English and I am sure you'd like and fit in well with many of them.

"Going Forward" I hope someone comes up with a fresh term for moving on or changes being made. I am so SICK of this term!

It is not a new word or phrase which has my dander up; but an incorrect use of an old word.
I TAKE something, or someone to some other place.
I BRING something, or someone to my location.
I cannot bring my dog to a vet, I can only take him there.
I has become habit to use bring when take is the proper usage. I grates on my nerves, and it seems everyone is doing it.

Yup - hate them all....but I REALLY hate the expression "Going Forward..." my co-workers actually won't use it in front of me...pompous, obnoxious...
I recently participated in an interview for our company and gave the guy a big thumbs down because he used it...whatever happened to "From Now On"?

Corporations like using this word of late: "unequivocally". You'll hear it all over the place now with AIG, et al, but every coporate officer, now likes to use it. It's a big word and they think it makes them look smart - but do they actually know what it actually means? They'll say: "I unequivocally stand by my word." Well... those that are listening have to assume that your word is truth, and since it is obvious it is not, how can you 'unequivocally' stand by it?

The one I hate the most is the word "disconnect" , used as a noun instead of a verb. It makes me cringe every time I hear this, which is daily, on NPR.
I also hate "transparency", especially when talking about our gov't.

hi . I agree about using nouns as verbs----I hate that; or using verbs as nouns. ....

These are not restricted to the corporate world, but I've long wanted to express my feelings about them: importantly, when the correct word
would be important. Remeber the simple hint that "ly" at the end of a word denoted an adverb--how, when, why the word it modifies.
"of" stuck in in places it is not correct. I find Weathermen make this error, often.
I agree with people who dislike "bling-bling" and "proactive".

I abhor being told "I need you to sign, fill in the blank, add your phone number, etc. here." Why does anyone "need" me to do something? To keep their jobs because they are so stupid?

So many .. so many words that irritate me. Lets start with .. ANYWAYS .. guess what folks .. there is no S on the end of this word. I hear it everywhere!! Another of my biggest pet peeves: these ones/those ones (as it "i'll grab these ones".) I work in the medical field. I have heard docs, nurses and masters level administrative officers use this group of words .. it is so improper and i cant believe people use them!
On to ebonics and the "baby daddy." I dont think i need to explain this one. Or "Who dat" Ohhhh myyy .. I understand relaxed and casual conversation but people speak like this all the time. They teach their children to speak like this. And it drives me CRAZY.
I might be a bit of a word fetishist lol but there's got to be a happy medium in educating people.

Thank you so much for commenting on the "anyways". That is just about as irritating as the phrase 24/7.
