Typical, isn't it? The first time we hear about a skateboarding parrot it's to learn he has been stolen. Gordo, a 30-year-old Malaysian parrot, was apparently a cult figure in his hometown of Baldwin Park, Calif., before his avian abduction this week. The talented bird was regularly seen out and about, sitting on the shoulder of owner Fred Mirales when not riding around on his custom-made deck.
However, on Wednesday morning, Gordo was snatched from his cage on Mirales' front porch by a mystery thief, leaving the 47-year-old "devastated." With no leads, police say that it will be "extremely difficult" to track down the kidnapped parrot.
Members of the public are advised to keep a lookout at local skate parks for a small, green rider with a gnarly kick-flip and a fondness for fruit and nuts.
