Ice Cube has undergone some major career transformations in the 20-plus years since he emerged with N.W.A. From radical hip-hop firebrand to comedy actor and family-friendly movie mogul, Cube's fashion philosophy has stayed pretty consistent. Of course, the Jheri curl has become a close crop and the go-to photo facial expression has changed from angry to slightly less angry, but as far as clothes go, it's always been a case of none more black.

The latest project from the rapping Renaissance man is "Janky Promoters," a comedy co-starring his "Next Friday" cohort Mike Epps and Young Jeezy. We don't have anything against the mature version of O'Shea Jackson, however weird it seems that "Amerikkka's Most Wanted" has produced and starred in a series of successful Hollywood franchises. But we still prefer the younger, edgier version of Cube. Check out our take on his simple, timeless streetwear style below.

Reebok Men's Oakland Raiders Basic Logo Adjustable Cap
Sure they don't play in LA anymore, but sports-team logos don't get any more badass than the Raiders' creepy footballing pirate. ($15 from Softball.com)

Nike Big Nike High Men's Shoe
No '80s-hip-hop-inspired outfit would be complete without a crisp white pair of Nike high-tops. ($80 from NikeStore.com)

Cheap Monday Chino in Black
From this classic old-school look to today's skater-inspired styles, hip-hop fashion doesn't have to mean the oversize, short-showing pants of popular cliché. Cube rocked his neat, fitted slacks like man who knew he had a killer look going on. ($70 from RevolveClothing.com)
