Dog Owners Really Do Look Like Their Pets

The majority of people can guess what breed of dog someone owns just by looking at them.

Psychologists showed volunteers full-length photos of dog owners, and then three photographs of different breeds of dogs. Almost 60 percent of the time the volunteers were able to correctly link owner to dog on their first guess.

The researchers also uncovered a widespread belief that the breed of dog a person owns can predict their personality -- although testing does not back up this assumption.

The bottom line is that owning a dog says a lot about you. And not just that you are willing to follow another creature around and pick up its poo.
