As part of its ongoing campaign to make Brussel's sprouts seems sexier than a big, juicy steak, PETA has recently chosen winners for its 2009 Sexiest Vegetarian Next Door contest. Pictured here is 29-year-old Amber, who beat out 16 herbivorous finalists to win the title, as well as a trip for two to Hawaii. Really, you think you're all original for being a veg? You think we couldn't possibly know anything about it? Get over yourself first, and STFU already second.

I've dated plenty of vegetarians and remained a happy omnivore. Yet another epic PETA FAIL.

Hurray for PETA! I am proud and healthy and I don't eat suffering, misery, fear, cruelty, abuse or murder. For all you meat eaters out there I have one word for you- KARMA! It all comes back to us. And what in the hell do fake boobs have to do with whether you are a vegetarian or not??? No creature suffered a miserable, cruel death for those fake boobs!!!

I got 4 words for you - STFU.
First, there is NO conclusive proof that vegetarians are healthier than the rest. Also, last I checked, being a vegan didn't make you Superman and capable of stopping bullets with your chest. As for Karma, funny story - The Human Race has been around for 1 Million years, yet Vegetarianism has been around for maybe 100 or so years.
If you want to be a vegetarian, go for it. However, DO NOT force the choice on me. PETA... or should I say PITA (Pain In The A$$)... wants to make the choices for me. To that, I say again - STFU

All I can say is this:
For every animal you don't eat, I'll eat three!
I really cannot take PETA seriously with their retarded antics they have done in the past.

stepper here are a few examples of PETA's epic fails:
1) Super Bowl ad that was banned due to its questionable content. Very similar to this deal now.
2) Using scare tactics on CHILDREN to convince them to go vegan.
3) Having grown adults (using that with the most loosest of standards) dress up in ridiculous fish, cow, plat, etc. costumes to promote their cause to children.
4) Creating video games calling parents "Murderers" for cooking meat.
5) Throwing flower, paint, etc. at people that wear fur.
Those are the first things that come to my mind. Point is, PETA uses the most ludicrous methods to promote a cause that is questionable at best.
Now, do not get me wrong, I hate when animals are abused. However, when it comes to what I eat, better them than me. I would care if the animals were treated poorly, but I have the sense to get meat from sources that are abuse free.
I WILL NOT BE A VEGAN EVER. I don't care what PITA...err PETA says because the science they tout is questionable at best and fraudulent at worse. I also cannot be behind a cause that uses retarded, borderline criminal, actions to promote itself. PETA is a joke, pure and simple.

Hey everybody!
First, God gave us every seed bearing plant to eat, then every edible thing to eat. This includes meat. Most people don't give a hoot about the True and Living God I know. However, what struck me funny was the women's photos, except for the African, portray them as cheap pieces of meat. Respect yourself women. Don't sell yourself short for 15 minutes of fame.
Grace to You.

Okay, I'm being juvenile, but something about the pop-up warning under the picture strikes me as funny.

There seems to be a lot of kids not in school today posting on this. Not a lot of maturity here. Oh well, back to school tomorrow hopefully.

OK, clearly Rabid Cheese Monkey isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. First of all, STFU is four letters, not words, and those words when combined are called an acronym. Second, noone on this board claimed that being vegan made you Super Man or means you can stop bullets with your chest, don't be ridiculous. It is healthier though because only animal foods contain cholesterol, a contributor to heart disease, the number one killer in the US. Also, vegetarianism is older than "100 years". Leonardo DaVinci was a vegetarian! And he was alive in the 16th century (1500s), so it's been around for at least the past 500 years. Educate yourself!

Obviously you are not either.
First, you need to STFU because 1) If you are going to split hairs over an acronym that is four words, you got no life. 2) I didn't wanna run the risk of getting reported for spelling out "Shut The F*** Up".
Secondly, I guess being Vegan means I can smoke 8 packs a day next to a radioactive waste dump with my family history of heart disease? Bull!!! Being a vegan only drops 1 risk (but not all risk) of heart disease and cancer! Oh but wait! There has never been any scientific proof EITHER WAY to prove vegans are healthier or better off. Also, I guess taking supplements that only meat and dairy provides somehow makes it better? No, keep trying anonymous coward!
Finally, so what if historical people were vegans? That and 25 cents would give you $.25. Maybe it has been around longer, but still it has began catching up in recent years. 500 years still doesn't mean 1,000,000 years of human behavior can be changed because you want it to.
It also doesn't excuse PETA's retarded antics.
So go educate yourself anonymous coward. Keep your ideology to yourself and I will do the same.

Ok, clearly you can stop trying to show off your inferior intelligence. We all get that you've been living under a rock for however long you've been alive, given your clear lack of profound knowledge. You're spouting BS just for the sake of trying to sound clever.
I told you about the acronyms to try and increase your brain activity levels but obviously that's not working, and that doesn't mean I don't have a life, don't be so judgemental.
Next, I didn't say that being vegetarian/vegan was an excuse to negligent to other health issues, it's not a magical cure. But it is a proven method to reduce health risks such as a heart disease and obesity. Which reminds me, only 2% of vegetarians/vegans are obese, the rest of us are fit. Not exactly surprising since over 60% of Americans are overweight or obese and not many are vegetarians or vegans, and furthermore because the typical American diet is based off a meat-and-potatoes approach to diet.
Lastly, no duh, vegetarianism is a newborn in human history, but the way we evolved, nomadically, of course we had to chase after animals and kill them. But with the evolution of planet came new species of plants and animals, providing more opportunities for people to settle and grow crops and eat less meat. It's taken a long time, but it's catching on.
Educate yourself.

Well look who is calling the kettle black! You say "don't be so judgmental" YET you are already passing judgment on others because of their diet? Saying "don't be so judgmental" but saying all your BS about my intelligence? Yeah, you are not just judgmental, you are a hypocrite hiding under anonymity. Considering you are lobbing insults and I am trying to use thoughtful responses, that only proves you are below my intelligence level.
First, I frankly don't care what people eat. Vegan diets are still not been proven to be any healthier than regular diets. I use to work at a rest home and I seen 100+ year old people that ate meat and 70 year old vegans not capable of remembering what they did a minute ago... If being vegan makes you live longer but that "living longer" means being unable to remember what happened in my life, then viva heart disease!
Also, most of the problems associated with meat is co linked to a thing called "over consumption". If you eat a balanced diet and do things in moderation, then there is no problem whatsoever. The reason there is an obesity problem is because most people eat McD's 3 times a day for a week. Either that or eat crap that is obviously not good for them. I seldom eat out, eat meat a few times a week and am in perfect weight. If you recall the above paragraph, the ones that lived to be 100+ that ate meat did so in moderation. Hell, they even smoked! However they did so like once a day or two... not a pack or two a day! Again, the key is MODERATION.
You mentioned that Leonardo DaVinci was a Vegan...Again, so what? That had little to do with anything he did to benefit humankind! Whats more, most Vegans that PETA posts won't be remembered for anything they did 100+ years from now! Being a Vegan or Carnivore has little to do with how you benefit in the game of life.
What you fail to see Anonymous Coward is that I could care less what people eat or the history of it. What I do care about is a cause being promoted at a sub-prime intelligence level. You don't promote a cause by doing stupid things like telling college students "Milk sucks! Drink Beer!" (yeah, we never needed a pesky liver anyways...) or trying to turn kids against parents. In other words - Look at what PETA is doing and do the OPPOSITE. Also, don't try to turn or "educate yourself" to others by lobbing insults or making yourself a hypocrite. THAT is what kills causes and makes you look like a simpleton.
Another thing is that PETA is trying to FORCE a choice down our throat. I have respect for those who try to convince me using actual facts and make me think about my actions. If you lob insults and demeanor, like you have Anonymous Coward (BTW - I call you a coward because it is a play on Slashdot, not an insult), then all you gain is my anger and your cause, be it good or bad, is lost in translation. In that process you look stupid, not intelligent.
So say what you want Anonymous Coward. I am not going to respond any further to you because you showed everybody you got nothing other than insults. If all you can do is lob insults about my intelligence, you obviously have nothing going for you or your cause.

It shows what the hell you know RCM. You can "you're not going to respond" and good for you, see if I care! You're the one taking everything I say as a personal attack because I merely pointed out that you have absolutely NO idea about what you're trying so hard to fight against. Are you serious? "Viva la heart disease!" ? Because people get old and we naturally develop diseases and start to be more forgetful we should all throw in the towel by eating crap? And those of us who are healthy enough to care for the ill (mentally in your case) should think like you and encourage it? Please.
As far as PETA goes, I've been neutral the entire time about any comments with them, so get off your soapbox and stop ranting. At least they are proactive in what they believe in, and all you do is think of ways to complain and criticise any effort! You are absolutely ridiculous, and if pointing that out making me a "simpleton", I couldn't care less.
Also, I don't care about you thinking of me as any of what you described, like a "coward" because I choose to keep my screen name invisible, or whatever cockamamy reasons you might be able to think of. Good for you, noone else cares. So I guess you're the one who has nothing going for you. Stop trying to bring people with spirit and intelligence down.
