If you're like the Internet, you are abuzz with rumors that the actor Kal Penn has died. But don't worry -- your favorite White Castle-chomping Indian-American is alive and well. It was only his character, Kutner, who committed suicide on "House" last night. However, his abrupt departure from the series, combined with a slightly confusing in-memory-of Web site viewers were sent to after the show, led many to believe he had died for real.

So why did Penn leave "House" so suddenly? Well, the politically minded actor is going to work in another house -- the White House -- as associate director of public liaison.

The position pays around 50 grand a year so, yes, Penn is taking a massive pay cut.
