Working for free is wretched enough when you're an inexperienced college student, but what about as an adult? Since the world started falling apart, even workers over 40 are taking internships in hopes of learning new skills and getting real jobs.

As bad as it sounds, it might also be the best way not to work for free (one day). Because businesses say that when it comes time to hire new talent, they look to their pool of former interns first.
