When your country is being torn to shreds by drug-crazed gunmen, it's often nice to distract yourself with a little righteous indignation. That's what Mexico's up to with its criticism of a recent Burger King commercial for its flame-grilled Whopper topped with taco-coated chili con carne.
The ad shows a tall cowboy representing America and short wrestler representing Mexico, with a narrator saying, "The taste of Texas with a little spicy Mexican." The country's ambassador to Spain has complained to Burger King about the ads, saying they "improperly use the stereotyped image of a Mexican."
You don't see Americans complaining about being stereotyped as tall, handsome men in an extremely masculine occupation, do you?

If not racist it is offensive. The majority of people who would say that it isn't racist either isn't a Mexican or are white since it seems that a majority of racially offensive material stems from the white people. Its like they continually look for ways to make their race look better then any other when they really aren't. These people are ruthless and don't care who they hurt as long as in the end they make money ($$$$$$$$) cause thats all that matters to them. They degrade others and force them to do the dirty work and sit back and reap the rewards.

I disagree. With all the talk about the racist Mexican stereotype, no one seems to see the real problem. I believe there is a horrible stereotype of the cowboy. Not all cowboys have weak hand muscles and clean pools as a hobby. I just wish that people would stop judging the cowboys. They've done so much for us and are severely unappreciated. Cowboys invented turtle necks, blow up furniture, and many other commodities that America has depended on economically and emotionally. So great job Burger King. You have offended the most important breed of human. The Cowboys.
