In maybe the first documented case of a person losing her job for being too wonderful, a California high-school coach lost her job recently after pictures surfaced from her Playboy centerfold shoot. Carlie Christine was apparently outed by vindictive parents of teens who had not made the squad due to unexcused absences. So they left copies of the racy photos on the principal's desk in retaliation, causing Christine to lose her position at Casa Robles High School.
Angry parents seemed to support the decision, describing themselves as "in shock."
"The whole football team has seen it," says one parent, leading us to believe there are at least 20 or so people at the school who support Christine.

I don't think this was a good enough reason to be fired. When I was in high school we had a female gym teacher who was on Girls Gone Wild and nothing happened to her. I think that's a little worse than Playboy. Sounds like a bunch parents who are sore about their kids not getting on the cheer leading squad. Maybe they should be worrying about their kids unexcused absences instead.

So lets see, the parents can read the Playboy and enjoy it but use it against someone they must clearly have issues with. This young lady set standard rules for her team and when the spoiled little girls didnt get their way they teamed together to bring down someone.Great message from the parents. I wonder how many of the administrators went through college with total and puritan deeds.Good luck Carlie

It's too bad that these parents can't help their own kids face reality when they did not make the team. There were rules and the girls chose not to follow them being absent multiple times. These parents are not good role models and they should be embarrassed by their behaviors and actions. Girls, do not look up to your mothers since they are setting you a very bad example.

Sad. The highest point of hypocrisy. We have teachers having sex with their students (sometimes coaches even) and yet a good number escape the wrath of parents and the school. Yet, when there is a teacher who is (or was) a porn star, Playboy girl, Girls Gone Wild, etc. they catch the ire of parents who could very well be jerking off to these educators and coaches. Whose fault? Parents and their spoiled brats. They go on to take down a teacher/coach for an unworthy cause and yet they don't want to be named in the story. You know what? They should be vilified for such acts. They should be named so that colleges and the world can see how vile and useless these students and parents really are.

if the coach were no longer working at the school than if she wants to be another female who degrades herself for the almighty dollar and make the rest of us look like usable goods than more power to her. So many others have which is why we will always be treated like second class citizens for men to abuse, dump on and sexually assault. Then men who have responded to this article seem to have no problem with it. Imagine how the boys at the school are responding to the scandal. It is probably a huge distraction and may produce follow-up issues as a result. The reality is those of us who work on these campuses are required by Federal law to teach character education. Our focus on test scores has pulled us away from it. But you can look it up under NCLB. I am currently part of a government study on character education and after two years have yet to see a lesson on how showing your ta-tas promotes good character. We know what it really promotes and you can't do that in school unless you request a pass to the bathroom.

should it really matter what the coaches 2nd job is or was she didnt bring her work to school and she didnt advertise what she was doing in her spare time so she isnt at fault in my opinion and lets look at the facts what were the parents doing with play boy maybe they should explain the the state that they expose theyr kids to porn seems there are laws against that as well there is no law for haveing a second job the coache should sue the school

Yes it does matter. People who work with minors are held to a different standard than those who don't. We have to watch everything we say, do, and even wear. It can be used against us if anything happens that might be considered unacceptable for those in a position of authority where kids are concerned. And, if you had read the article more carefully you should have remembered that the pictures were on the internet. Most minors have access to magazines such as Playboy through a parent. In my experience it has been more that they get them from older siblings. But, in this case all one student had to do was go online where there was no fire wall or block placed on the computer by a parent. If that kid gets caught by a parent that parent could report it which is probably what happened. Who knows how many kids saw the pictures before parents were aware of it. The reality is even if this coach had not been fired, the innuendo, jokes, and tension would have mostly likely forced her to quit. Truth be told, there is so much out there that influences young people in poor ways that one more person in a Playboy certainly can't ruin them for life. However, parents can't take on all those poor influences simply because they do not have easy access to them. But they do have access to the adults who choose to teach or coach their children. This was a battle they felt they could take on. They had an expectation for this coach and she failed to meet it. It may seem unfair to you but it is the unwritten understanding of choosing to work with minors even if they are in high school. Hopefully she is not choosing education as her future career. Since these pictures are on the internet they could come back to haunt her for some time. We had a teacher who had to battle the rumor she had posed for Playboy. Though the rumor was proven to be untrue, she had to defend herself year after year until the day she retired--early.

If you are trying to make a correct point of view then you have failed! This statement is the worst I have seen without giving the only correct facts, which are; parents did not exuse the attendence for thier daughter and breached a rule that the school standard had set. Only the school can enforce it and not the coach, before the incedent was made public, Carlie recieved only comments on improving moral and teaching! She was still involved with playboy in the past and present and proves that the only change is the public knowing this information! The students, parents, teachers are at fault for allowing it to be public knowledge which includes all the minors to be curious! At the present, we are giving minors more information to them at a younger age to arm them with knowledge to make their own decesions! What Carlie has done is legal and did not advertise it but everyone else did. When becoming adults, they will make the decisions/ choices. You and every other adult invloved have a different opinion and you have NO right to force onto others! I bet that there is NO investigation into which adults are involved with allowing access to adult content to minors! THIS IS THE PROBLEM THAT YOU DO NOT STATE EITHER!WHEN DESCRIBING THE NUDE PICTURES, YOU MUST SAY THAT IT IS LEGAL FOR ADULTS AND NOT MINORS! You also missed a lot of other laws too, your statement is very incomplete!

Ok...she gets fired for posing in Playboy? I think the schools priorities are a bit out of whack. After all, she's very beautiful, has a good career, don't seem to recall her doing drugs or having sex with students (and if she was, I'd go back to school.) Not to mention that with this, she's garnered HOW much publicity? The school should have thanked her for setting an example...if you try then you will succeed. Hell, they GAVE her some of the publicity by doing this!

Sharpee, you are wrong again! The nude pictures are on ONLY one playboy website! You had to become a member and pay by credit card! The web search for Carlie Beck will not bring up any information to that website because it was done as Carlie Christine and not her LEGAL name! The choice was made not to go by the school standards for this situation and from becoming public knowledge, so there are many illegal actions which none of them involve Carlie! The parents, teachers and other adults have exposed adult content to the world instead of one school! The law is based on innocent until proven guilty, so where is the proof against Carlie! None, all the other adults against Carlie have increased the damage and have taken the work of every other parent in the world for protecting them from porn! Carlie did not get any complaints before the exposure and proving her morals on not exposing the nude pictures to minors! All of the adults against Carlie are not able to teach minors because their actions to expose it world wide is the proof required! THAT IS THE POINT, END OF STOREY, ALL TEACHERS INVOLVED ARE FIRED AND THE OTHER ADULTS WITH KIDS ARE TO BE ADOPTED, NONE OF THEM CAN BE TRUSTED! THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS DO NOT ASSUME AND JUDGE AND CONLUDE THAT THE ADULTS IN THE SEX INDUSTRY AUTOMATICALLY ARE IMMORAL BUT CAREFULLY WATCH THE 'I AM BETTER THEN YOU MORALLY'PEOPLE INSTIGATING IT!

Wow really a teacher fired by making a couple of bucks, to supplement on of the most underpayed jobs. I am going to school to be a High School math teacher and i have to say what has happened here is terrible. The only reason this was brought up was because the parents got miffed by they're precious kids not being on the squad. It was the kid's fault they were kicked off. Also the parent's had no right to ruin someones life like that. A Teacher's/Coach's job is hard enough without foolish parents making it worse. On the issue of leaving photos on the desk of the principle that was wrong if they had a porblem with that all they had to do was go talk to the teacher and principle what they did was over the top and was full of mallice not concern
