No longer content to let a stodgy educational-prep company like the Princeton Review be the go-to arbiter of which colleges party the hardest, Playboy has thrown its iconic brand into the party-school ranking game.So what does it take for a university to make the House-that-Hef-built's list? Good ratings in the categories of campus life, sports, sex, "bikini" (a combination of girl-to-guy ratio, weather and "cheerleaders," whatever that means) and, surprisingly, brains.
Despite this unexpected academic inclusion, Playboy's list still manages to recognize many of the usual suspects. Or, as we like to call them, "The colleges we would have gone to if we knew then what we know now."
See if your school made the list after the jump.

Playboy has obviously never been to Ole Miss!! Ole Miss has always been in the top 3 of every publication that makes this kind of list. Sports Illistrated did a special article on "Groving" and put Ole Miss in a category all it's own.

It's Playboy. It's not as if they do research that gets peer review by sociologists. For what it's worth, Cal State Chico is known as a party school. But I'll bet that most big schools that
1) have easy access to alchohol
2) lack access to entertainment for most of the year
3) aren't strictly religious or something like that
are known as party schools. It's not the schools, it's our culture.

Was UF confused for FSU? I have actually driven to Gainesville to party and left a couple hours later due to dissapointment.

"WVU is no longer rated in our annual Top Ten Party Schools List because we feel that it is unfair to include professionals in a list full of amateurs" Playboy Magazine.

Playboy gives the "It's unfair to include professionals with amateurs" line to anybody they left off the list so as not to alienate any customers. They told us the exact same thing at UCONN 4 years ago. The top 10 party school list is simply a marketing gimmick to garner customer support in different cities.

This list is just the biggest bunch of B.S.
1) University of Miami- has substantially improved in the past 10+ years, though not up with UF.
2) University of Texas (Austin)- Some of the best programs in the U.S. in quite a few fields.
3) San Diego State University- well, this school is a bit on the ugly & dumpy side, so maybe there is nothing else to do.
4) University of Florida - Another school that has gone from a "safe school" to quite competetive
5) University of Arizona - certainly a decent school
6) University of Wisconsin (Madison)- Come on. An excellent Big 10 school.
7) University of Georgia - Like UF & UM, has made great strides. Not as good as UF, though, and likely deserves to be on the list.
8) Louisiana State University - OK, you got me here
9) University of Iowa - Not as good as Wisconsin, but another good Big 10 school
10) West Virginia University - who the heck knows what goes on there.
In addition, there are many "colleges" that are nothing but glorified high schools. However, putting many of those "colleges" on the list would not be PC.

I think you're confusing "Hardest Partying" with "Academically Acclaimed".
