Smith may not be on the list of most loved or most hated news talking heads (though his f-bomb may land him on next year's list), but plenty of his colleagues are.

Shepard Smith has always been the mystery man of Fox News. Part amiable frat boy and part devilish Batman villain, Smith is quick to defend the network he works for, but rarely the ideology associated with it. We learned a few other things about Shep yesterday: He has a lawyer; he doesn't like torture; and he makes unusual language choices for a television newsman on camera.

If Fox News corrected the mistakes they make, they would have almost as much correction as they would actual news. Same with many of the talk radio personalities like Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Bob Grant, etc. This is why we've always been told to believe only half of what we hear or read. It's also the reason why a properly informed populace, especially in these dangerous times, should be of the utmost importance.

The CIA attempted to protect Americans using a technique approved by the Bush Administration.
With all of the talk about prosecuting somebody under the circumstances, I would tuck in my horns, protect my loved ones and let the terrorists do as they will. Our country is at a point that it may have to crumble and re-build from the ashes.

NO ONE America has faught since these "conventions" were agreed upon has followed them. So why should we if our opposition doesnt? Only a moron would fight a conflict with one hand tied behind their back. Facts are that what ever means have been used on these terrorists, they have sung like cannaries and many plots have been thwarted. If the waterboarding or what every they are doing works... and keeps American civilians safe, who gives a rat's @$$ if some terrorist has a panic disorder from a perceieved torture.

The Geneva Convention rules of engagement and how to treat prisoners of war DO NOT apply to terrorists. These goons are like kick boxers where there are no rules that they play by anything goes with terrorists. Therefore, a little sleep deprovation, or a little water boarding is not torture. Chopping off a head or carving up a body and dragging it thru the streets NOW that is torture. Wake up you namby pamby Obama lovers there are very bad people out there that still want to kill ALL of us. They see you namby pambies as weak at least the rest of us are not afraid to go down fighting.

maybe Smith should be tortured himself ! what a liberal JERK ! it's guys like him who think that Americans should follow "rules" when terrorists follow no such rules... maybe when if someone in his family was a victim in the 9/11 attacks, he would be ok with torturing terrorists.
the so-called torture is nothing compared to what torture was for American POW's in Vietnam. what a bleeding-heart liberal - just like our new president...

Fox News comes the closest to "fair and balanced" coverage of the news. Years ago the "ultra liberal" press announced that it was not necessary to give the idiots watching any facts to deciper, just tell them what you want to in order to make them behave in the manner you want them to behave. They do a very good job of that today. Fox has a few weaklings (Geraldo, Wallace and a few others), but O'Reilly, Beck, Huckabee, and Hannity make up for their inabilities.

Fox news has higher ratings than all the other news stations because the people who watch it only want to hear what they already believe.

If Fox news is number i because they have the monoploly of the so called "righteous ones". Free thinking stations got a lot of competitions that is called freedom or democracy in the true sense of the word. Fox news is the only station that caters to the likes of the "annointed ones". You are all change haters if that change favors the underdogs. It is Geneva not whatever. My husband always say a lot of house snakes wants to pretend they are rattle snake.

I agree with Shepard we should have never tortured. We are the United States of America we sit the example for the other countries. Bush and Cheney are to blame for that and should be punished. Jail time would be to good for them. But the truth will come out time will tell all. Hey Shepard just said the truth. Deal with it people. Fox News is anything but FAIR AND BALANCED. They are one sided and rude. They only want people that will agree with them, and have no opinion of there own or against what they say. Never watch it. For the best news reported not there opinions watch MSNBC......

Wow..I used to like Shepherd, a lot. However, let me tell of what I think about the military "torturing" those poor, Muslim bastards:
I believe the military should "torture" them to the max, kill them, bury them...and then:
Dig them up, "torture" them again, kill them again; and then, bury them again!
I will go further than Shepherd in his outrage:
I don't give a "flying" F@@k, rat's ass about what happens to terrorists!
So, there ya go....

Here's the thing that a lot of are forgetting, you agree with the tactics that the bush administration was using, that great but what happens when a foe that our country is fighting do the same with our P.O.W.s. We either have to abide by the covention or not. This is a new type of war and by that i mean that the Geneva's covention has got to change because the enemy combatants certainly doesn't adhere to it, and has proven when capturing POWs, beheading and torturing them to death. Considering all the facts they had it a hell of lot better than they treated our troops. They had three meals a day clean cloths and got to walk away with their lives, thats more than we could say for people captured by them

Win well Rupoblickins lern too spale an right gud? Right wing hate radio has reached the illiterate like print media never could. Geneva. We're not to politically correct. Learn the difference between to, too and two and there, their and they're, then maybe your misinformed opinion might stand a half a chance.
Fact: torture is illegal and morally wrong. It has put our country in shame worldwide. An America that tortures is not my America. Who would Jesus torture?

I watch Ole Shep but I think he has an ego that won't quit. As for torture, why don't we see on TV the beheadings when they release the 48 pictures of the "abuse" we have done to Gitmo guys? Or why don't we see those Gitmo guys pee'ing and throwing feces on our soldier guards? I would never have wanted Ole Shep around when Harry Truman was about to drop the A bombs on Japan.

Hey watalaff, you bonehead: when you're 65, standard insurance WON'T insure you except as a secondary. And your employer and you pay into it your whole working life; and you pay a monthly premium to boot for each part. Despite all that, it's about the most fraud-ridden segment of medical healthcare that exists, similar to the efficiency of other government-sanctioned "benefits". But study your terms before you shoot your mouth off. And Fox pounds every other cable channel because (I could care less what you brainwashed uber-left fools are spoonfed): whether or not you like the on-air personalities, they have a better balance of guests and opportunities to present opposing points of view than any other network. If you disagree you're blind, stupid or simply are choosing to remain ignorant and parrot your little puppet opinions.
