While the Body Mass Index (BMI) of American women continues to expand, the BMI of Playboy centerfolds continues to fall.

Wired magazine compiled the stats of every Playboy centerfold between 1953 and January of this year, and found their average body mass has shrunk almost 10 percent. Over that same time period, the average American woman has added about 20 percent of BMI.

Another titillating fact Wired uncovered is that as playmates' bust sizes (chest circumference at the fullest point) get smaller, cup sizes (breast volume) have remained constant.

For whatever reason, no research was done into the comparative weightiness of Playboy's much-lauded articles.
