Is there any more idyllic image of childhood than the simple, homemade treehouse? The rope ladder, the rickety wooden platform, the stash of comic books -- and don't forget the plasma-screen TV, the stained-glass window and the potter's wheel.

One Russian 10-year-old is reportedly set to take ownership of a treehouse that puts many people's non-tree-based dwellings to shame. The three-story structure is currently being constructed in Weldon, England, and will be shipped to a Moscow suburb next month. The Swiss Family Robinson-esque creation will include a classroom and an arts area, and will feature a rope bridge, staircases and a pulley system.

In total, the Muscovite Little Lord Fauntleroy will be able to have 20 of his (no doubt newly acquired) friends hanging out in the treehouse. To sidestep the problem of finding a tree big enough to support the damn thing, it will simply sit near some trees. Hang on, doesn't that just make it a house?

For the rest of us who have to simply dream of such an amazing treehouse, here are a few stellar structures to gaze upon.
