Chuck Norris's tears cannot, in fact, cure cancer, no matter what popular-in-2005 Internet memes might tell you. But his face can scare off even the most persistent of cake thieves. Fact!

A bakery in Split, Croatia, reportedly put a life-size poster of the roundhouse-kicking B-movie star in its window as a security measure after the shop suffered weekly break-ins. The display is accompanied by a sign reading, "This shop is under the protection of Chuck Norris."

Now the store says they have been burglary-free for over a month, thanks to Chuck's visage. "He's quite a popular character, perhaps even among criminals, so they've decided to leave us alone," explains shop assistant Mirna Kovac.

And if the cause-and-effect claimed here seems implausible, imagine the sort of felons who would regularly turn over cake shops ...
