Take one part office-job doldrums, one part crappy office chair, add in some crazy Germans and mix it all up on a steep hill, and what do you get? The German Office Chair Race, of course.

The 9-to-5'ers version of a soap-boax derby had its inaugural run in Bad Koenig-Zell, Germany, on April 25, 2009. Instead of the usual office garb, contestants donned helmets and rigged their chairs into bizarre racing creations. It was a seamless blend of Idiotarod meets Tour de France. Well, maybe not seamless.
