Two new dating sites are using the odor given off by our immune systems to make potential love connections.Studies have shown that people are most attracted to those who have different -- and different-smelling -- major histocompatibility complexes (MHC). "The science is real; different MHC's are good for the sexual aspects of a relationship," explains Martie Haselton, a UCLA professor who specializes in mate selection and consults dating sites.
So far the new sites have had little success, which they attribute to currently having a limited pool of applicants.
You can laugh at smell-dating all you want, but if science can find us the lady of our dreams by her stank, we're in.
