When we go extended periods without washing and instead hang out next to a bonfire smoking weed, people just avoid us. But when it's a 63-year-old Indian man doing the same thing, it's suddenly big news.Kailash "Kalau" Singh has reportedly eschewed bathing for over 35 years in favor of the above ritual, which he calls a "fire bath" and claims is as effective as more traditional approaches to cleanliness.
His neighbors disagree and have stopped shopping at Singh's grocery store due to his "unhealthy personality" and habit of wearing two sweaters all summer long.
The man himself says his water aversion is a protest that will not end until "all problems" in India are solved, while others claim it's a superstitious attempt to secure a son for the father of seven daughters.
Either way, unless there are a unusual number of Indian women desperate to procreate with 63-year-old stoners, we don't see Mr. Singh hitting the shower anytime soon.
