One in five Americans has urinated in a swimming pool. The pool pissers fessed up in an online survey of 1,000 adults conducted by the Water Quality and Health Council. Meanwhile, 35 percent of Americans said they don't shower before using a public pool, another behavior that can lead to recreational water illnesses (RWI).
RWI , which can cause diarrhea and respiratory illness, has been on the rise over the last few years, and the Centers for Disease Control suggests not swallowing pool water as a way to avoid getting sick.
While pool peeing is gross, we are even more disgusted by the idea that anyone would need to be told not to drink pool water.
