Motorcycle riding offers a unique sense of freedom and excitement, but these advantages are weighed against significant safety issues. For instance, the danger of being mistaken for a tasty deer by a hungry tiger.A Russian biker almost became involved in a battle for the ages when a big cat attempted to leap on him as he rode by. Fortunately for the rider -- and unfortunately for the tiger -- a car struck the flying creature in mid-pounce.
The tiger -- who apparently had been ill and had not eaten in a month, hence the unusual hunting method -- suffered minor leg injuries and is being treated at a vet's clinic. While we're glad all concerned are safe, we suggest Russian Biker vs. Tiger as a future episode of Discovery Channel's "Animal Face-Off."

Wow. I'm a biker and when you decide to ride, you assume the risks that come along with this activity. But possibly being a tiger's lunch, well, honestly, it never entered my mind. Expect the unexpected.

doesnt it strike anyone as apparent that all these animals in the wild are starving to death.first we here of whales taking fish off of lines sharks jumping on boats and now tigers attacking motorist!!!!What the hell stop raping our earth i think the man shoul be fed to the tiger when hes well. whats one human out of billions campared to a tiger out of hundreds if that????i wonder how long it will survive in the "wild"? not long i bet.

Jay, If you are so concerned about the tiger's hunger that you would feed the man to him are you just as willing to offer up yourself? The guy attached was just riding his bike...he may be as much of a tree hugger as you and yet you wish him harm. Way to be a caring human!

The whole raping of the earth comment seems out of place. You are one of those people who look for any posssible venue to push your agenda right. Why would you suggest feeding the guy to the tiger? He didn't do anything wrong. If the tiger needs a human meal and you are so worried about it.....how about if he eats you.

Jay, You seem to have some major anger issues with the human race. My suggestion would be to become educated enough to understand the difference between usage of the words here and hear, cook yourself a nice juicy steak, and chill. You might also consider some psychotherapy and get off of the computer to meet some fellow humans. In other words, get a life.

Jay, I have to say, you are a complete moron. If you want to talk about the sanctity of nature, consider this simple fact which is obvious to anyone with half a brain: this tiger would have deserved his lunch if and only if he succeeded. That motorist deserves to live. He has earned it. He didn't need another human with a gun to come to his aid. He wasn't hunting the tiger with a gun, or that other dirty human trick, hunting it with a GROUP of other hunters with guns and dogs to chase them into a corner. The TIGER is the one who chose the conditions of their showdown. And the motorcyclist beat the tiger on his own terms. He was a more competent prey than the tiger was a predator. That's natural selection right there. If you want to whine about humans encroaching into other species' environments, pick a point of argument that actually supports your claim. Complain about chinese traditional medicine. Complain about rich, arrogant hunters who claim tigers are cowardly for not returning to their kill sights when they know humans with guns are stalking them. Complain about all those born-again Christians who think a uterus is a clown-car who are responsible for there being too many humans in the first place. But the motorcyclist in the story isn't the villain. And he earned the right to live another day. This was mono-on-mono tiger vs. man and the man won.

I was struck by a vulture (on its way to chow down on road kill) while riding once. Fortunately it just glanced my arm & I was able to maintain control. Ahhh, the joys of riding!

This ended well for both the rider and the tiger. I was really glad to see that the big cat wasn't hurt badly and is being treated. I'd like to hear about what happens to him later. They're such gorgous creatures.

Catherine: Your comment was so sweet, a medal for you to love animals; too few people CARE
today, and that is sad, everyone just things 'ME ME ME ME ME.......
Again, thank you for caring, wish there were A LOT MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF.

Wow! You would never imagine that a tiger would be something to watch out for while scooting along. Just glad that no serious injury occurred.I hit a 130 lb deer once and felt very blessed that I was able to drive away with a minor fracture on my lower left leg. It could have been SO much worse!
