A couple weeks back, we polled Asylum readers on whether the NBA needed a Kobe-LeBron finals. Out of nearly 1,000 votes, more than half of you responded that you basically don't give a crap and wish it were football season. We're guessing the majority of folks will care even less about basketball now that LeBron James -- the NBA's reigning MVP and all-around hoops master, has been ousted from the playoffs.

A day after Saturday night's crushing loss, the Cleveland Cavaliers forward took questions while wearing a Yankees cap, a gesture long-suffering Knicks fans are taking as a sign that King James wants to rule over the Big Apple after his contract with Cleveland ends in 2010. In the face of that speculation is the fact that James is from Ohio and the Cavs are built around him for the long haul. Meanwhile, we continue to want to believe the Nike commercial in which he dreams of playing for the NFL's Browns.

What do you think will become of LeBron? Let us know in the poll, and check out some other sports-related stories on our radar below ...
