Ever since Barack Obama got all romantic last weekend and took Michelle on a ritzy New York date, Republicans have been trying to get people riled up about how much it cost taxpayers. But Rick Santorum, former Senator from Pennsylvania and lifelong gay-hater, took a different tack. He offered Obama some good ol' boy dating advice. Find out what he had to say after the jump.
"I think he has to realize that flying to New York is self-indulgent. Go down to the corner bar and have a drink -- a shot and a beer," Santorum said. "It does not matter where you go with your wife; [it's] that it's with your wife. It is [the] mundane that really makes the marriage special. Because you are with your wife the mundane isn't mundane. It's special."
Nailed it! Perhaps Santorum should consider a new career as relationship advice columnist for I Can't Stand My Wife Because She Always Wants to Go On Dates That Involve More Than Getting Drunk at a Bar While the Penguins Game Is On magazine. (Although it appears from the above photo that he doesn't mind going out to a nice meal with Mitt Romney.)

Yeah, a $24K-$250K date night filled w/multiple planes and helicopters on the taxpayers' dime while millions of them remain out of work unable to even attend a damn movie is wrong to criticize. Seems to me he had no problems going to a Waffle House during the campaign AND a burger joint recently w/cameras following him all over. Yet you think he can't go to a local place for a cheaper date while 14.5 million Americans are out of work? How much crap did Sarah Palin take for her wardrobe vs. every G-damn day we have to hear about how "stylish" Michelle is now spending 2 times as much? Fact is, media raked Bush over coals CONSTANTLY for far less than this yet Obama is both idolized and given a total pass for spending taxpayers money however he likes to the point of debt our kids will never get out of. Wake up.

First: Obama paid for dinner and theater tickets out of his own pocket. Second, President doesn't fly commercial, Bush didn't when going back and forth to his many vactions on his "Ranch." I'm not sure what you people are complaining about? I think it is great that the President is supporting American Theater, and dinning out at restaurants. We need people out there spending money to turn the economy around!

Bush wasn't telling us the country was out of money, that we all had to tighten our belts,live green, reduce our "carbon footprint", that we had to pay more taxes and give up our lifestyle because the world was in such a mess, when he went home to Crawford, or wherever. Obama lives high while he demands that we all live low.
And where was Nagin and the Dem governor in preparing NO for the hurricane? Relocating their own families to safety and leaving millions of their constituents in harms way. No one cried about that- they expected their Dem leaders to do nothing to save those poor people. Didn't even have water in the dome for the refugees.
If Republicans have to take a beating over any transgression in "family values" then the Dems have to take a beating over their lavish, taxpayer funded huge csrbon footprints! Simple.
The Dems are the party of using less fossil fuels, but fly everywhere on private jets to preach to me that I need an electric car, should set my thermostat so I sweat in summer and freeze in winter, while they blew millions on renovating a building so they didn't have to smell the tourists in DC.
