When Demi Moore embraced her missing tooth via Twitter (pictured left), we applauded. Our praise had less to do with the fact that she pioneered the backwood-sy extreme makeover; it was more her candor and apparent pride in her own endentulism (the condition of missing one or more teeth).Too long has tooth loss been the solely associated with the child shedding his deciduous chompers and the clandestine meth addict. According to statistics, large swaths of the population experience endentulism, but few feel the confidence to show it. So to honor Demi, a long legacy of ice hockey players, and numerous others, we present a gallery of the proudly toothless.
If you have any prideful toothless pics, feel free to show the world by uploading them to the gallery.

With today's modern dental technology available in this country there is no excuse for living with missing teeth. Missing teeth make you ugly, because they cause bone loss in the jaw and make your face cave in, adding years to your appearance. I would borrow the money if necessary rather than face the world without teeth!

I am the college educated son of an engineer and a school teacher. I am fairly clever, funny likeable and not to hard to look at. I am professionally successful and generally well liked by employees and a small circle of friends. I lost several teeth to a medical condition in my mid 30’s. Unless I am going to some important function or photos will be taken I usually don’t wear my “falsies” I have been told “no one but you could pull that off.” but I disagree. Dentures are a lie and often look as stupid as the fake breasts of a stripper.

I used to have okay teeth, but 5 years ago I developed a very rare jaw infection called osteomyelitis. It took almost 20 surgeries to fix it over a period of 4 years, numerous bone grafts, and in the process I lost ALL of my teeth, and all of them were completely healthy. It was so stressful.
But it is all over now. I wear full dentures, top and bottom, and they look really good. Nobody ever notices. I can not have implants at this point because my jaw bone was no badly damaged and infected that I have been advised against it, so I just have to live with it now. Before all of this I would have been horrified at the thought of losing my teeth, but now that it has happened it is really not that bad at all. I much prefer this than living with the terrible pains and surgery, plus I will also survive now which is a great advantage! :)
I am 35 years old, I have a career in 3d design, I talk to people, eat, kiss, laugh, all the regular stuff, believe it or not, having no teeth actually gave me my life back. Strange but true. I also have a beautiful 22 years old girlfriend who I have been with for over a year and she does not care in the slightest about the teeth trouble I have had.
I don't know if I would take a "no teeth" photo, I would be uncomfortable with that maybe, but I am not uncomfortable telling people about it if I have to.
And no, my mouth did not cave in, it looks completely normal.

Drunk, I fell into my bathtub five months go nd lost all but one tooth on the bottom. I'm still witing for 4 a dental plate because of the cost. I've never felt so ugly in my life. I'd give my left nut for the money. Thank God I'm sober 4 five months

I'm glad that such a beautiful woman can poke some fun at herself and show everyone that she's not as perfect as she looks. She's a really beautiful person inside and out.
And FYI: Most people can barely make their monthly living expenses and do you know how expensive dental work is? My husband needed to have some teeth removed, implants inserted and got estimates ranging from $30,000 to 17,000. The range of prices was mind boggling and also led me to believe that lots of dentists are blatantly ripping the public off. The greed factor was apparent & and so we got a referral (from a dental implant sales rep,) for a dentist that was good and honest. We got the job done for $17,000. Our dental insurance only cover $1,200. Be proud of your missing teeth - it means you are REAL.
