Last night a group of leading Republicans gathered at a fundraising dinner to discuss practical ways to fix the country's shattered economy and how to ensure a better future for generations to come. Not! They got together to talk sh*t about Barack Obama. Jon Voight, best known for being the best actor to never, ever turn down a role, led the evening off with the kind of insults that usually come after a night of free pinot noir. He called Obama a "false prophet" who believes he's "a soft-spoken Julius Caesar." ZING! We think.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich picked up right where Angelina Jolie's father left off by saying Obama's plans to fix the economy have "already failed." We're not sure there's been enough time to judge the effectiveness of the president's plans, but we kind of dig the idea of a Gingrich/Voight pairing on a future ticket/sitcom.

It is pathetic to see how the republicans NOW try to find solutions for the country's problems when they had 8 years to do so and never did a shit about it.

If you think the economy is better NOW than it was over the 8 years -- you must be living on the MOON! We are at a record low and the fix needs to be sooner than later for everyone's sake!

People who comment about the country's economy being so much better under the previous administration should understand that I could have a great time in Vegas with an unlimited credit card, but when the party is over reality will assert itself. For too long we had wars that were off the books and the Government under Bush money like trust fund babies.
We are now trying to fix a mess we knew was coming, and it's going to take a lot of money to square the books again.

Hey Cronin
The economy is not better now than it was during the last 8 years. The economy is where it is now BECAUSE OF THE LAST 8 YEARS.!!! We have had nothing but, corrupt greedy lying Republicans running the country. They have done NOTHING to help the middle class and the poor. They have neglected education, the environment and the loss of jobs because of outsourcing. They started a war that has killed over 100,000 innocent people in Iraq for the sake of making billions of dollars in profits.
The Republicans bash President Obama for spending money on programs that will help the American people. Did they all forget about the billions and billions they spent during the last 8 years, and have NOTHING to show for it. Of course they didn't, but they are famous for being hypocrits. Bush and Chenney
padded their pockets and their friends pockets, but purposely forgot about the rest of us. If we would of had a democratic
president during the last 8 years, this country would not be in this awlful mess right now. And, President Obama is trying to to fix lots of problems NOW, but the Republicans keep holding things up. I say screw bipartisanship. The Republicans never carred about it. They ran this country by themselves for 8 years and now we see the results of it. A lot of them will be shoveling sulfer with satan! I say kudos to you President Obama
for trying to fix the problems left to you by the party of hate and greed. If you call yourself a Christian and also a Republican, your head is screwed up! Jesus would never himself act, or want any of us to act as the Republicans have and still are. You are a dying party!
