While retrieving a radio he'd left on the roof of his summer home, Mike Donigan was attacked by a swarm of hornets, causing him to fall off and fracture four vertebrae, his pelvis in two places, and his right wrist -- injuries that would eventually require almost a month of hospitalization. To make matters worse, he had landed on the wrong side of a steep incline. It took Donigan four hours to crawl 100 feet to the front steps of his home. But the pain was too much for him to attack the landing, and the barely clothed 57-year-old spent the night shivering in the increasing chill.
The next morning, buoyed by thoughts of his wife and kids, Donigan spent two hours scaling the eight required steps and finally made it inside.
When he was able to grab his cell phone, Donigan called 911, and then his employer. If you're wondering why the second call wasn't to his wife, it's probably because she had specifically forbidden him from painting from the roof by himself.

Swap 6 hours for 16 hours and you still have an intriguing headline.

This whole article is lame, WHO would just lay there and die? Of course he's going to crawl for help. It's human nature..yea that's so inspiring. How about doing an article on someone beating cancer?? Why didn't this man have his mobile phone with him on the roof? This is seriously an idiot. Awww he thought of his family AFTER he did something that his wife specifically asked him not to do..isn't that sweet? Give me a break!

Look, this guy could have lost his life. It is a story about the power of miracle, not a joke. In fact, if he spent less than 16 hours of crawling, the total of his time out there was 16 hours. Think about it, If he could walk, it probably would not have taken him more than 30 minutes to get help. This guy spent 30 days in the hospital. You do not stay that long if something is not really wrong with you. Look have a heart and pray tell, What in the world does Obama have to do with this situation? I am sure that Obama would recognized him as being brave and congratulate him on making it through his ordeal alright. Let us do the right thing and be compassionate for the Love of God.

What kind of neo-nazi-white-trash-racist comment is that?, why don't you first learn how to write your ignorant skin head?

OUTLAW All Hornets............immediately, Congress must do this so we can be safe from all Hornets ! ! !
Donigan still thinks he is 16 yrs. old, of course he
should not be on the roof doing anything of importance and next time he may look to see or determine what hazards exist on the roof. AOL and
most Journalists exist to exagerate stories, it sells to readers and subscribers and ADVERTISERS !

AOL is known for fabricated headlines...similar to the National Inquirer. That makes me mad as well. They will go to great lengths to draw you in to the story. It's poor journalism at best. But hey, that's AOL.

Here is a news story that you won't need to sensationalize:
Home Valuation Code Of Conduct ruining housing market. Will be the sole cause of a second wave credit crisis. Congress could care less; although Realtors, borrowers, Mortgage brokers, & appraisrers have been screaming foul play for over 1 year.

Men! Is it pride, stubbornness..or WHAT? We wives only want to look out for your best interest and health....you are NOT ALWAYS as safe as you think, and NO, it isn't YOU, it could be other factors....like BEE's...other motorists....that we wives worry about. I have a husband JUST like this and yes, he also fell off the roof. Fortunately, only broke one rib. Did I know? NO. I had just driven away to attend three weeks of workshops when he went up on our mountain vacation home roof to clean the leaves from the gutters. YES, I would have gladly waited and held the ladder and kept it from falling over as he decended, but NO, that would have required he actually ASK for my help! It takes TWO to love....IN ALL THINGS.
