If you want someone to perform a task for you, you are better off asking their right ear.To test this theory, Italian researchers went to three noisy nightclubs and asked 176 random smokers for cigarettes. There was a significantly higher rate of compliance when they made their requests toward the revelers' right ears.
The reason for this is that the right ear is connected to the left part of the brain -- which processes verbal information better than the right side. And when it is easier for someone to understand you, the more willing they are to help.
Before you think we've just given you the key to nightclub seduction, remember the left brain is also the logical side. So inappropriately salacious right-eared requests are even more likely to be met with a drink in the face.

Something doesn't seem right... usually most people lean to the right and expose their left ear when they cant hear someone... i.e. noisy club. So.. what a waste of research.

it really depends what ear you use your phone in. this is rubbish. i am left handed and prefer that ear because of it. did they not even think to check who was right handed and who was left handed to see if it made a difference.
