In a lopsided fight that even Don King would have had trouble promoting, a burglar in Oxford, England, got more than he bargained for when he broke into the home of Frank Corti, a 72-year-old former junior boxing champion. Upon spotting the intruder, Gregory McCalium, in his hallway, Corti dodged a knife attack and delivered two mean right hooks that left McCalium battered and down for the count. Police arrived to find Corti subduing McCalium, who looked like he had been in "a car accident," according to one lawyer.
"I was scared when he first drew the knife but most people would have acted in the same way," Corti said. "If needed to, I would do it again."
McCalium was found guilty of aggravated burglary, but he's apparently already planning his next robbery: the home of a Russian man named Drago.

when my mother was 67, a young punk tried to grab her purse. she swung him into a wall knocking him out. she stood there crying because she hurt the kid. it took the cops awhile to figure out that she was being robbed and they explained to her it was ok. the kid had a fractured skull and broken nose. he also had a record.

Why don't these law breakers ever learn that it's
not wise to do it again? Talking about the guy
in this story. Won't he ever learn or is someone
like that really dumb? When I was in jail over
a bad check I watched a girl come in over the
same thing over and over again. I consider that
really dumb. I learned from my mistake and won't
do it again. But some just keep on doing it and
getting caught. Very stupid and foolish!

The fact not stressed is that the victim is 1 in 10,000. Or less due to his training earlier in life. The anti-gun movement in the USA would take the right to posess firearms away from those not so trained or out numbered. Everyday in America guns are used for defense, but it is never in the mainstream media. And in many juristictions (New York City for just one) it is well near impossible to own a gun legally.
On July 4th we should remember that our Founding Father considered gun ownership a basic right and a responsibility of free men.
BEST ARMED, MOST FREE.

the old man should hve beat a little bit more before the cops got there. i was told when i bought a gun here and went for target practice with a former cop that if someone breaks in your home shoot them to kill them cause they will turn around and sue you if you dont and if you dont see a weapon on them get a knife from your kitchen and put it near them. glad to know this cause there is no doubt you break in on me your going to go out in a body bag

i, believe the 72 year old boxer made one mistake.. the guy intented to cut and perhaps kill the boxer, had he not acted quickly.. but, to allow the attacker to live is mistake, he'll get off easy and perhaps try to get even.. the boxer should have ended him wright there and then.. save, himself and the public any further future costs, perhaps someone else's life..
