The history of making video games into movies is not a proud one. Sure "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider," starring Angelina Jolie's breasts, made some bucks, but think "Resident Evil" and "Max Payne" and the blight on western Civilization that was "Super Mario Brothers."
Yet, according to our friends at FilmDrunk, this hasn't prevented Universal from outbidding three other studios for the rights to the Atari classic "Asteroids." While we were completely baffled by this at first, we've come to realize that "Asteroids"' (literal) lack of dimensions would allow the film version to be taken in just about any direction -- and maybe that is its appeal.
This also means that any old video game can be made into a movie. So which of your favorite Atari games from the '80s would you like to see Hollywood try to strike "Transformers"-like gold with?

Even though I already know that the Asteroids movie is in the works, Joust is the only one I see working.
