Reporting live from downtown Las Vegas is always going to be an assignment fraught with peril, what with all the drunken tourists who can't resist waving and giving shout-outs anytime they see a camera. But in this clip Steve Ryan of Channel 13 Action News doesn't given an inch when a bulbous out-of-towner in a polo shirt starts messing with his shot.
After the jump, watch Ryan smack down "that guy," and see other news reporters deal with unruly drunks.
Fox News reporter Steve Brown would never, ever hit a woman, but he'd sure as heck shoulder one outta the frame.
While we don't actually get to see how this ends, we are pretty sure it ends violently.
If you think the previous reporters overreacted, this is what can happen if you let the drunks run wild.
Or this.

I watched the video. The news reproter has is himself, a man without class. He "could have" excused himself from the "live video/FEED" INSTEAD of PUSHING the DRUNK guy!
The reporters behavior and that of his co-workers who IMMEDIATELY BLAMED THE DRUNK, ARE SHAMEFUL! What an obnoxious little punk right along with the co-workers/anchors! iMMEDIATELY COVERING HIS REAR END FOR PUSHING AND THEN SLUGGING THE DRUNK. WHAT A LOSER.
Blame blame blame the drunk!

I watched this! I am a conservative, Republican and was DISGUSTED with the reporter pushing, shoving and punching the drunk fellow. This guy apparently is quite rigid...not a good thing when doing news.
The actions of the co-workers/anchors were as reprehensible, as they IMMEDIATELY worked to JUSTIFY this guys actions, by blaming what the reporter did on the DRUNK GUY!
The drunk fellow was just that, a drunk guy. The SOBER reporter pushed, shoved and slugged the guy. I hope he sues the television station!

The guy was 300 pounds and drunk. I don't like that he pushed him it looks bad for TV but if a 300 pound 6'3 guy is bumping into and you weigh 140 you can't help but to react like that, even when my friend who's 230 is playing around sober like that I have to shove him or he'll knock me over.

Patmyownway - well that is a very constructed Conservative point of view. I would like to see anyone of us standing there doing our jobs and being subjected to anything that these people did to the reporters. I can tell you that I'm a pretty laid back person but I would have probably done worse based on what some were subjected to. And here is one possible realily --all we saw was a less than a minute clip - who knows what else went on earlier that prompted their reaction.
But I get we are supposed to hate the press so suggesting that they were doing something wrong floats your boat. For what I saw - your support of the creeps depicted is too funny. Being ignorant to blame the reporters for reacting to what happened shows how deeply flawed your conservative agenda is.

Hah, look at all these little Seth MacFarlane wannabes on here bitching about how biased Fox is just because they weren't on there knees sucking the entire democratic party's dick from the get go.
I have some breaking news here live from New York City: Reporting political news as it is on both sides rather than picking out little bits & pieces of good democratic/liberal news & assembling it to fill your time slot does NOT qualify as biased new! Fascinating.

I think the one to have a beef with is the News Agencies that send their reporters out there with no recourse for these types of scenarios. Something needed to be done about the drunk guys mobbing the reporters (looked what happened to the reporter who did nothing), but starting a fist fight is not the way to go. These reporters should have had some type of security officer to deal with people who became too rowdy.

To your headline writer...I have to ask, why do you identify "Fox" reporters in two of your headlines for this posting and disregard the companies for the other three? The ABC and CNN logos are clearly visible in two of the other three video clips. Please consider the questions this might engender from your audience. Without being too sensitive, this smacks of bias, an inclination to point out embarrassing situations that impact Fox reporters with more prominence than other media outlets.

Hey poot, just wondering, do you actually have anything intelligent to add to these discussions or do you just spend your days running around on the boards tearing down other people's comments like a little bitch? Just because someone has a differing (and from what I can see more intelligent) point of view it doesn't give you free reign to act like a douche!

dtkarge, you're an idiot. The "headline writer" does not write the video names he or she embeds from Youtube.
"Ok", you're saying--there's still one video that is captioned to indicate the reporters were from Fox News.
Yeah, so what? It's an indication. Not a bias. Take your mongering somewhere else and quit polluting the thread.

So what kind of subliminal message is being sent? Being heckled by drunks doesn't give Fox News less credibility. Their actual reporting does that

you are exactly right!!i thought the same thing when i looked at the FOX logo almost in neon lights, making it seem that those idiots over at fox are always attacked because of there conservative view. just like when a congressmen does some thing wrong he would never be representd as a democrat just a senator or congressman. if he is republican then that word is emphasized times ten.

That's because Faux deserves it. They aren't even a news network. They're lies and rightwinged bias only.

Seriously? You're an idiot. The person who wrote this story isn't the one who put Fox on the videos. and to the person who said it's never pointed out that a person is a democrat when a democrat does something wrong, what world are you living in?? In fact, when republicans do something bad, they are mislabeled by Fox as democrats. And that happens a little too often to be a mistake. Also, when a republican who spouts Christian ideals does something like cheat on his wife, it is pointed out that he is a conservative/Christian to show the hypocrisy in his actions. Actions speak louder than words and hypocrisy in politics needs to be pointed out.

He wasn't downing the person who wrote this he was simply giving some constructive criticism. dtkarge isn't tearing apart anything OR even imposing his political views, simply stating for the next time that MAYBE the headline writer might want to take into account how SOME people might take the fact that he pointed out, IN TEXT, the Fox reporters and not the reporters CNN, etc. dtkarge wasn't even saying that the headline writer did it on purpose, but that SOME people might take it that way.
You people clearly do not know the difference between constructive criticism and an attack. Or perhaps you are all still sore from all the "red-marks" that your English papers were returned with.

Actually, I believe that AOL and FOX news are well connected. Their stories are similiar, and so are their reporting styles and politics. I doubt highly that AOL would slander its partner, and believe that it was actually mentioning FOX to keep it "the most popular news channel in the nation".
But as an aside, you may be interested to know that drunk drivers kill more people every year then died in the Vietnam Conflict. And never has a judge, when confronting a drunk, said "Well... you acted like an ass, you killed someone, and you abused someone... but hey! you were drunk, so don't worry about your behaviour."
Sorry, being drunk is the same as being sober when committing a crime. We are still responsible for our actions when we choose to drink. So if a stone cold sober man came up to me and pushed me around and tried to mess up my shot, I would totally push him back for assulting me first. The fact that he chose to drink first does not excuse him for the unwanted touching/assult or interference with my work.
If a man punched while drunk and she hit him back instead of politely asking him to stop, well, that's pretty much what most people are asking here. The guy was drunk, but he made the first move and got the worst of it. Let's move on...

It isn't paranoid when it's true. I watch CNN and FOX, and FOX has the information sooner and gives more thorough coverage. CNN has admitted running film that has nothing to do with the story and still does it. FOX reports the news and THEN they have people COMMENT or editorialize. The other networks build their editorials into the news report.

How come you are not writing about the incident with Duffos and the reporters during the press conference/town meeting yesterday? You report silly news, for the populace.
