Korean Zoo Seems to Have Instituted Bear-Torture Progam

To be fair, this clip from Korean television depicts the torture of just one particular bear cub. However, the process is systematic, as a zookeeper takes the skittish cub into various animal enclosures and leaves it to fend for itself. It seems like the purpose is to get the bear to express the human emotion of pants-crapping terror.

I felt so bad for the little guy, but once you see his reaction to the lions @ the 45 second mark, I couldn't help but laugh! LOL!

Your commentary is pathetic... how can you call this cub a pansy... it is a young animal, think of a human infant, would you think it was funny to put your child in with someone who could possibly hurt your child and it could not reach you?

I felt badly for the baby bear but I really do not think its cruel because the lion cubs were only playing. He will be sizing up soon and the lions best not turn their backs.

if you turn of the noise and you don't get to listen to the yapping of the japanese host and the stupid sound effects, you'll realize that they put that baby bear through a lot of unnecessary stress and terrified him for what? a few cheap laughs?

I agree completely. These are the same kind of people who laugh when someone slips and hurts themselves. Seeing someone - human or animal - go through pain, fear and panic seems to be fun for some - but definitely NOT for the rest of us. Shame on them for subjecting this poor little guy to this frightening experience. Maybe someone should pick them up and drop them off in a lion's cage - bet they wouldn't be laughing then.

I agree with you co,mpletely. That poor little bear will probably be scared and picked on the rest of his natural life...Lets put his incompassionate handlers the sme treatment. There is TO much animal abuse in this world now. ie: boys beating a baby moose so bad it had to be put down...when they do this as kids it leads to murdering people as adults. It all makes me SICK,,,Not- LOL and think its okay for fun. enough said!!!!

This is the cruelest thing I've seen in a long time, that poor bear. Its really not funny, in the wild the bear would go to its mother for protection, its like taking a human baby and just leaving it in disneyland in a foreign country.. not cool. i've never been so pissed off at something you've posted asylum.

You are so right, Misha! I almost started crying after seeing what they put this baby through! Yes, I know they were just all babies and the cubs just wanted to play, but to purpously put the little bear cub through this is torture in my eyes! I just can't believe how cruel humans are to animals in our world, whether its something like this, dog fighting or bull fighting etc... it's all torture and these people should be ashamed of themselves! How sick is our world???

what a fucking insensitive thing to say. not all asian countries are like that. i'm from Singapore and the Singapore Zoo is one of the BEST zoos in the world where they have a lot of respect for every animal there.

if i wanted to be racist about it, i can easily say asian countries aren't known to have circuses with animals performing in them....
